Sausage Sage Pasta, Photo 4

Cook up the sausage and onion ... There's the sausage! I picked Old English sausage today. I made this dish on Friday because Friday is when the butcher shop we use (Mettrick's) has quite a variety of sausages available, but in the end went with relatively boring Old English. Still good, though. The UK is believed to have some 470 varieties of sausage ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sausage#United_Kingdom ) - and none of them are smoked! I can't tell you how overjoyed I was when, after months of deprivation, I finally found some smoked sausage here. There are exactly two varieties in town: regular smoked sausage, and reduced fat smoked sausage.

Anyhow, this is the sausage and onion frying up.
