IMAG0034

You know those people who leave their Christmas lights up (but not lit) year round? Cause, y'know, it's a lot of work scrabbling up and down ladders, the roof, around trees, etc? I can see the sense in that, actually.

This, however, is just laziness. Apparently it's a thing here for some youths to throw flour and eggs at cars and/or people on Halloween night, so some stores won't sell flour or eggs to said youths around Halloween. This is a flyer about that, stuck on glass by the inside door (it's a double-door entry system) at our local Co-Op. In February. I did such a doubletake about this (since I didn't see the Halloween blurb til later) when I saw it.

There's no ladder, no scrambling, no roof involved with this flyer. Just a bit of tape (or something), at elbow height, inside. Mmmhmm. (If the store doesn't sell flour or eggs to minors at any time of year, then they need to have someone take 15 minutes and make their own poster that doesn't talk about Halloween, and hang that. I know I'd be pissed if I sent my teenager to do the shopping for me and they were denied flour and eggs because of this sign in February.)

Co-Op, Glossop, 1 February 2012
