I'm afraid that's all you get, because then the tour guide told me they didn't allow us to take photos in the house (with or without a flash), and gave me some totally stupid, bogus reasons. The primary one was that he thinks that thieves come and make themselves obvious by taking photos while wandering around the house during business hours before coming back to steal things later. Nevermind they could just memorize what they wanted to. I've heard that theory more than once now, I do wonder why such a ridiculous myth exists.
The tour was informative and good, and the house was nice, but I won't be going back to Lyme Park. Not being able to take non-flash photos (the flash damages old things; I really wish they'd make flashes out of some non-damaging light already) at a tourist destination for completely bogus reasons left a bad taste in my mouth. There's also nowhere near enough chairs and benches for us tourists to rest on throughout the house.
