I talked with the lady who runs this stand when I went down on the 4th. We're quite happy with our butcher, so I usually don't really look at the raw meat, but this one caught my eye for some reason; glad it did! This Smith Hill Farm grows and butchers everything it sells, direct to the public. The lady I was speaking with said she herself did the butchering, so it was quite easy to ask for a special cut. She explained to me her system for keeping it cold, which sounds a lot like what our local butcher uses for their deliveries (including when they ship their meat abroad). Most of the beef prices are below what our normal butcher charges, a few cuts are the same price. The pork is higher, but that may be due to the gap in the pig crop she was telling me they've got right now.

So now I've got to rig up some system to keep meat cold so I can buy some of their meat and bring it back. I didn't expect her this day (the 13th), so I didn't have that arranged yet!
